Prototype pollution in Snowboard framework
CVE-2022-39357GHSA-3fh5-q6fg-w28q
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (wintercms/winter 1.2.1, 1.1.10), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
Impact The Snowboard framework in affected versions is vulnerable to prototype pollution in the main Snowboard class as well as its plugin loader. Patches This issue has been patched in https://github.com/wintercms/winter/commit/2a13faf99972e84c9661258f16c4750fa99d29a1 (for 1.2) and https://github.com/wintercms/winter/commit/bce4b59584abf961e9400af3d7a4fd7638e26c7f (for 1.1) and is available with Winter v1.1.10 and v1.2.1. Workarounds If you have not yet upgraded, or are using the 1.1 branch of Winter (1.1.8 or above), you can avoid this issue by following some common security practices for JavaScript, including implementing a content security policy and auditing your scripts. The 1.0 branch of Winter is not affected, as it does not contain the Snowboard framework. # Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2022-39357 Advisory: Prototype pollution in Snowboard framework IDs: CVE-2022-39357, GHSA-3fh5-q6fg-w28q Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2022-39357 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 14:00 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: High (CVSS 8.1) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: wintercms/winter 1.2.1, 1.1.10. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Packagist wintercms/winter: affected >= 1.1.8, < 1.1.10; >= 1.2.0, < 1.2.1; fixed in 1.1.10, 1.2.1 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Packagist wintercms/winter: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on wintercms/winter. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-3fh5-q6fg-w28q (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-3fh5-q6fg-w28q lists affected ranges: Packagist wintercms/winter >=1.1.8 =1.2.0 <1.2.1) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
