CVE-2022-31109GHSA-8274-h5jp-97vr
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (laminas/laminas-diactoros 2.11.1), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
Impact Applications that use Diactoros, and are either not behind a proxy, or can be accessed via untrusted proxies, can potentially have the host, protocol, and/or port of a Laminas\Diactoros\Uri instance associated with the incoming server request modified to reflect values from X-Forwarded- headers. Such changes can potentially lead to XSS attacks (if a fully-qualified URL is used in links) and/or URL poisoning. Patches Any version after 2.11.0. Starting in laminas/laminas-diactoros 2.11.1, we have added Laminas\Diactoros\ServerRequestFilter\FilterServerRequestInterface, which defines the single method invoke(Psr\Http\Message\ServerRequestInterface $request): Psr\Http\Message\ServerRequestInterface. Filters implementing this interface allow modifying and returning a generated ServerRequest. The primary use case of the interface is to allow modifying the generated URI based on the presence of headers such as X-Forwarded-Host. When operating behind a reverse proxy, the Host header…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2022-31109 Advisory: Diactoros before 2.11.1 vulnerable to HTTP Host Header Attack IDs: CVE-2022-31109, GHSA-8274-h5jp-97vr Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2022-31109 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 14:00 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Medium (CVSS 6.1) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: laminas/laminas-diactoros 2.11.1. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Packagist laminas/laminas-diactoros: affected < 2.11.1; fixed in 2.11.1 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Packagist laminas/laminas-diactoros: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on laminas/laminas-diactoros. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-8274-h5jp-97vr (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-8274-h5jp-97vr lists affected ranges: Packagist laminas/laminas-diactoros >=0 <2.11.1) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
